New Payment Options

Paying your Ohio Valley Gas utility bill is now easier, faster and more convenient. In addition to the payment methods currently available, you can now pay by phone or online 24 hours a day using your credit or debit card with the assurance that your transaction is secure and confidential. All you need is your account information, a touchtone phone or internet access, and one of the accepted credit or debit cards. Your payment and the convenience fee charged by the independent company that processes the transaction will be billed to your credit card or deducted from your checking account.

For what types of charges can I use these payment options?

For charges appearing on your utility bill, as well as security deposits and reconnection charges.

How much is the convenience fee?

NCO Financial Systems, the payment processing company, will charge you $6.95 to process a payment up to $600 using your credit or debit card. For each additional payment up to $600, an additional $6.95 fee will be charged. Ohio Valley Gas receives no portion of this fee.

How do I use these new options?

No enrollment or application is required to use the new payment options. To pay by phone with your credit or debit card, call 866-261-2990 with your touchtone phone. NCO's interactive voice response system will guide you through the step-by-step process any time of the day, seven days a week, in English or Spanish. If you need assistance, you can easily exit the voice response system at several intervals and speak to an NCO call center representative in English or Spanish during the hours 7:30a-11:00p Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, and 8:00a- 2:00p Eastern Time Saturday. To pay online with your credit or debit card, click on Pay Online. You will be connected to NCO's website where you will follow the menu-driven payment process. Because online payments are identified as non-emergency payments for regular utility services, security deposit and reconnection charge payments should be transacted by phone. Payments for accounts pending disconnection or already disconnected should be transacted by phone.

Which credit cards and debit cards are accepted by NCO?

You can use your VISA, MasterCard, DISCOVER or Diners Club credit cards, or your VISA or MasterCard logo debit cards.

How will the payment and convenience fee appear on my credit card or checking account statement?

Your payment and the NCO fee are reported as a single amount with the payee caption of "Ohio Valley Gas/ NCO 800-794-1630".

When will I receive credit for my payment?

Payments made during the 24-hour period of 12:00 midnight - 12:00 midnight Eastern Time will be credited to your account the next business day. NCO will notify Ohio Valley Gas of your payment within approximately one hour and whether it is an emergency payment for service pending disconnection or has been disconnected.

Can NCO process my security deposit installment payments?

Yes, by phone. Each payment, up to a maximum of $600, is charged the $6.95 convenience fee. The installment agreement is an agreement between you and Ohio Valley Gas and must be established before you contact NCO to make a payment. NCO will not have information regarding the details of your installment agreement, and all such questions should be directed to the Ohio Valley Gas District Office serving you.

Can my Ohio Valley Gas District Office process my payments made with credit or debit cards?

No. Ohio Valley Gas personnel are not equipped to process your payments using these new options. As have most other utility companies, Ohio Valley Gas chose to have an independent company process customer payments made with credit or debit cards. If you experience a problem contacting NCO by phone at 866-261-2990 or online at Pay Online, please report the problem to your OVG District Office so NCO can be notified. Your OVG District Office will continue to accept payments by check or cash, and by mail or in person.
